Finance Coordinator


The Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD) currently is accepting applications and resumes for the position of Finance Coordinator.  The CCFD operates a finance department within the Administration and Support Services Division of the organization. The finance department is responsible for payroll, benefit administration, budgeting, general accounting, purchase orders, invoices, fiscal reports, and a variety of other governmental accounting processes.  

The CCFD is an all-hazards organization that is responsible for 4,807 square miles and approximately 50,000 citizens. We respond to all fires, hazardous materials, technical rescue, and life threatening emergency medical incidents. In 2025 the CCFD responded to 3,200 incident requests for service. 


Pay and Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $56,476.00 - $87,006.00

  • Anticipated Hiring Range: $56,476.00 - $71,741.00

  • Annual Paid Vacation Time: 96 hours accrued

  • Annual Paid Sick Time: 96 hours accrued

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED

  • Must be a United States Citizen

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Must reside in Campbell County within 6 months of completing probationary period.

  • 3-5 years of verifiable experience in payroll and accounting 

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides timely and accurate payroll processing. Ensures accuracy of pay rates, accounting, and distribution. Maintains payroll and related records.

  • Completes payroll reports on a biweekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Prepares and manages department assigned financial activities.

  • Process invoices & matches to purchase orders. Checks invoices for accuracy. Balances and posts purchase orders, reconciles statements, and prepares and prints checks for submission. Communicates with vendors & suppliers as needed.

  • Meets and assists new hire employees with enrolling and submitting appropriate paperwork, benefit enrollment, and changes. Maintains employee personnel files and coordinates benefit processes between the Payroll and Human Resources Departments.

  • Prepares and analyzes a variety of fiscal reports. Assists in providing appropriate financial information as requested by Auditors.

  • Coordinates employee benefit processes between Fire Department and County HR Department. Processes and ensures accuracy of monthly billing for each benefit.

  • Assists with annual open benefit enrollment for all fire department employees. Ensures accuracy of and enters all changes to the payroll system.

  • Oversees and assists with management of ExecuTime Time & Attendance System. Ensures employee information flows from ExecuTime to payroll system. Sets up and trains new employees/managers on ExecuTime Time & Attendance System.

  • Assists with the preparation and issuance of W-2's. 

  • Ensures taxes, garnishments, deferred comp, and child support payments are made in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Assist with month end, fiscal year end, and calendar year end accounting system processing.

  • Attend Board meetings, in place of Finance Director, to provide financial information, if needed.

  • Oversee Finance Department, if Finance Director is gone.

  • Assist with tracking capitalized assets.

  • Performs related duties as required.

    • Verification of employment and work experience of external candidates
