Sr. Mechanic


The Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD) currently is accepting applications and resumes for the position of Sr. Mechanic. The CCFD operates a full service maintenance facility that is tasked with maintaining approximately 90 CCFD vehicles and 20 Campbell County Health EMS (Ambulances).

The CCFD is an all-hazards organization that is responsible for 4,807 square miles and approximately 50,000 citizens. We respond to all fires, hazardous materials, technical rescue, and life threatening emergency medical incidents. In 2024 the CCFD responded to 3,200 incident requests for service.


Pay and Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: $51,809.89 —$79,835.81

  • Anticipated Hiring Range: $51,809.89 - $65,822.64

  • Annual Paid Vacation Time: 96 hours accrued

  • Annual Paid Sick Time: 96 hours accrued

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED

  • Must be a United States Citizen

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Must reside in Campbell County within 6 months of completing probationary period.

  • 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a mechanic

  • 6+ months of specialized training beyond High School/GED

Required Certification

**Required Certifications or Ability to Obtain Within One Year of Hire**

  • Valid State of Wyoming Driver’s License: Class B, air brake and tank endorsement

  • Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Level 1

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T4 Truck – Brakes

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T5 Truck – Suspension – Steering

Preferred Certifications and Education**

  • Associate degree or Certificate from regionally accredited university or community college

  • EVT- Level II

  • EVT – Ambulance Level I

  • Class A CDL with Air Brake and Tank Endorsement


Applicant Testing Process

  • Submit application, resume, and applicable certifications by July 7, 2025 at 1700 hours MST

  • Application review by CCFD personnel

  • Invitations to participate in hiring process (Not all applicants may be invited to interview)

  • Oral Interview Panel for successful candidates will take place on a date TBD.

  • Chief of Department interview (TBD)

  • Conditional employment offer pending pre-employment conditions.

    • Pre-employment drug screening

    • Criminal/Driving background check

    • Interview of references from application

    • Verification of employment and work experience of external candidates
